My Luggage Has Finally Arrived -- Hallelujuh!!

First Day of School

Myself, Ginny and Ethan went to the Scientific School, students who are studying more scientific courses rather than general courses.  The students were 18 and 19.  Only one or two had been to the U.S.
Their English was pretty good.  We had a lot of charades going on...talking with hands and gesturing, but we all seemed to understand each other well.

Interesting and fun to talk to the students.  They are very interested in the lifestyle in the U.S.
They seem to think it is very dangerous here....we explained that the U.S. is very safe but as in all larger
cities you need to stay out of certain sections, etc.

They hadn't seen American money, which we showed to them.

They had no idea what peanut butter was.....how can you grow up without peanut butter?
I guess the same way our kids grew up without gelato  :)

They really like American movies, but they don't have very many cinemas.  No Netflix or anything like that.
They live a very simple lifestyle.  Of course, they all had iPhones and are all on Facebook and Instagram.
Not very many sports in the high school.  Soccer, swimming and tennis were the most popular sports.
Most of them said they didn't have time for sports because they need to focus on studying.  A lot were
going to study at the university for medicine and engineering.

They were all very curious and asked us a lot of questions.....

Oh, Sara, by the way, I showed them your senior pictures and one girl asked me if you were a movie star!!
Haha   I thought you would like that....they boys thought you were very pretty, too.

The people in the region are very polite and helpful to foreigners.
