Stories of how nice people can be.....
When I got on the flight in DC to NY I talked to the flight attendants and asked them if there was any way I could sit in the front because I literally had 15 min to get to the gate (which, by the way, was on the other side of the airport) to make it for the Rome connection. During the flight a woman sitting behind me to the right said she heard the flight attendant talking to me...she was a off duty flight attendant trying to make it home. Her name is Florendo. She was telling me what to do to make the flight...she was very optimistic that I would make it.
Here is her advice: Get off the plane first, grab my bag curbside that they took from us as we boarded, and RUN. She said to tell the first agent I saw to call the Gate and tell them I was on my way. Grab on of the trams that are always beeping and honking and get to the gate.....which, by the way, was on the other side of the airport.
So, I did all that, but the plane was backing out as I got there.. :( But she said she would call as soon as she got off the plane for me, too, just in case I didn't see an agent to tell. That was very nice of her....
Also, a girl sitting in the first row of First Class came back near the end of the flight and told me to take her seat so I could take off running....the flight attendant must have said something to her. That was very nice of her, too.
