Well, my flight in DC was delayed for 1 hr due to Air Traffic Controller problems in NYC -- that's their story and they're sticking to it......
So, I missed my flight to Rome by literally 2 minutes. I got to the gate and the plane was back up out of the gate :(
So I spent most of the night in
pleading with the Delta assistants to get me on the next flight, which was Alitalia, to Rome.....they got me on...so they say.....but by the time they stayed on hold to get the confirmation from the airline that they could put me on that evening.....poof....all the seats were gone.....:(
So, for all my trouble and inconvenience they sent me to lovely Jamaica -- Jamaica, NY,
that is, to the lovely
Days Inn of Jamaica, NY...all at my expense......no, I'm not bitter....do I sound bitter?
But even amidst all of the turmoil, I met a few really nice people....there really are nice people.....or else I must have looked really pathetic, but here are a few stories of how nice people are....
